Italy, Portugal and Slovakia come together under the sponsorship of Eramus+ and INDIRE, the Italian National Agency, to create regional nodes as pilots toward promoting sustainability in agrotourism. Our overarching objective is to eventually serve as pivotal points to connect stakeholders along the value chain of the agrotourism sector. A virtual innovation hub connects the nodes as a European network for cross-border transnational collaboration, supporting growth phases and helping agrotourism operators embrace innovation to overcome obstacles toward gaining market share of the agrotourism industry, achieve sustainability and improve the economic outlook of rural communities where agrotourism is generally located. * a Regional Analysis to determine the capacity for sustainability of agrotourism operators and areas ripe for interventions sets the groundwork for establishing the “Eco Seal”, a label that establishes sustainability criteria that will lead to a certification of socially- and environmentally responsible products from operators associated with the agrotourism sub-sector of the tourism industry * a training model supports the objectives of the European Digital Decade, an agenda that aims to empower governments, businesses and people to participate in a human-centred, sustainable and more prosperous by focusing on training that includes a focus on initiatives that support the transformation currently taking place towards digitalization. Training is centered around EntreComp, the EU framework for entrepreneurship, that recognizes entrepreneurial thinking as a critical element in their expanded definition of entrepreneurship: “acquiring the mindset, thinking and action for an ability to transform ideas into actions and opportunities for products and services of value to others in a variety of settings (www.entrecomped.eu) * a SUSTAINABILITY TOOLKIT breaks down sustainability management into smaller, more manageable steps, and provides case studies on sectoral successes in implementing sustainability in terms of operations, culture and defining stakeholder concerns around four criteria: the environment, operating practices, products and services, community.

Each resource node will tap into the virtual platform that houses the e- learning modules of entrepreneurship education and training, supports digital access to resources and enables partners to communicate with each other, highlighting opportunities for collaboration.
